Dispersed camping is not only FREE but also a pretty awesome way to enjoy the beautiful nature with some solitude. However, you need to be prepared and bring EVERYTHING you need with you. Besides all your typical camping gear such as tents, or sleeping bags, here are the top 10 items that we found helpful to make our dispersed camping trip more enjoyable:
These are the gear that we personally use and find them helpful for this particular adventure. The majority of these links are through our affiliate links so if you buy something, it is at no extra cost for you but it helps us support the site. That being said, don’t buy something just to support us, buy something if you think it will enhance your travels and adventures.
Solar shower
Since there are no toilets or water at the campsite, these solar showers are a godsend.
Pop Up Privacy Tent
This pop-up tent will give you privacy for a quick shower or if you need to do your private business. It beats hiding behind a bush!
Foldable Camping Toilet
With dispersed camping, since there are no toilets, 💩 becomes quite a stressful business. This foldable camping toilet, along with the pop-up privacy tent will make this A LOT easier!
Biodegradable Toilet Bags
Since you need to bury your 💩, these biodegradable toilet bags are good for the environment instead of using plastic.
Biodegradable Wipes
Showers are a rare commodity for dispersed camping. That’s why these biodegradable wipes are very useful to keep yourself nice and fresh! This is my must-have as one of the 10 items I need for dispersed camping.
Biodegradable Feminine Hygiene Wipes
As women, we need extra stuff to keep us feeling nice and fresh, especially after a long hike. I love these Biodegradable Feminine Hygiene Wipes
Biodegradable Soap
If you notice the pattern, everything we use is biodegradable. This is to protect our nature and environment. This awesome Sierra Dawn Campsuds can be used for EVERYTHING!
Camping Lanterns
Since you will be in the middle of nowhere, it can get very dark. You will need a few good camping lanterns. This rechargeable lantern gets very bright. Another one that we like is this one. If you prefer solar lanterns, we got the LuminAID inflatable lantern as a gift, but we love it!
Headlights
You will need these headlights to see where you’re going and what you’re doing. There’s no light when you go dispersed camping.
First Aid Kit
Since you will be in the middle of nowhere, it is always smart to bring a first aid kit, along with standard medicines such as tums, pain relief and allergy relief.
Of course, there is a full list of all the camping gear. However, we found these items especially to make life easier when you are camping in the middle of nowhere. Do you have anything else to add?
