How to Zipline to Niagara Falls, a Bucket List Experience in Canada!

If you’re looking for a bucket list experience when visiting Niagara Falls, you’ve got to do the zipline to Falls. Whether you’re 7 or 97, an experienced thrill-seeker, or someone who has never done anything like this before, you’ll love this fantastic experience with WildPlay. Although there are many places where you can zipline, there is something about ziplining along the thunderous Niagara Falls. We had a blast doing this. Even my sister (who is scared of heights) had a great time.

Is it Difficult?

Out of all our zipline adventures, this one is really easy. Even my sister who is afraid of heights was alright with this. The harness works like a swinging chair. It is very comfortable.

Are Cameras Allowed?

They are allowed but with conditions. You can bring small cameras such as a GoPro or DJI Osmo Action, however, it needs to have a specific strap that follows their guidelines. They also allow helmets/chest strapping and wrist mounts as long as the pole does not extend. If you have questions about this, you can email infonf@wildplay.com.

The Adventure

The Check-in Process

We planned our Zipline to the Falls the day we flew into Buffalo New York. By the time we made it to the parking lot, it was quite early. Knowing there might be a long line to do the zipline, we got to Niagara Falls as soon as the WildPlay park opened. Luckily, since it was windy and cold that day, the line for the Zipline was very short if not nonexistent. If you purchase your ticket and fill out your waiver in advance, you can go to the “Check-in” kiosk directly below the large ZIPLINE TO THE FALLS sign. The check-in process was simple. The employee scanned our reservation before weighing each of us. Then, they gave us our helmets and sent us on our way. It wasn’t as extensive as when we did the CN Edgewalk.

At the Platform

Once we climbed up the steep set of stairs, we were at the platform for the Zipline to Niagara Falls. As I mentioned before, with the windy and cold weather, we hardly had to wait at all. Almost as soon as we got to the top, we got suited up in our “chair” harness. I had to say, it was quite comfortable. When it was our turn, the employees hooked us onto the zipline. Once hooked in, you’ll be in a sitting position.

It seriously felt like you were sitting on a swinging chair. My sister, Vivienne, and her husband, Marvin went first. Even though my sister was very scared at first. She said she had a blast. Unlike most of the zipline courses where you’ll have to kind of “jump” off yourself, Zipline to Niagara Falls had a release button operated by the employees there. I think it helps to take that fear of having to make that first “jump” yourself.

The Zipline to the Falls

The Zipline to Niagara Falls itself was beautiful. Although it was short, it was beautiful. It was an interesting view looking straight at the Horseshoes Falls. When we went, the leaves were turning yellow so the views were even more breathtaking. It was also pretty fun looking down at the onlookers.

Near the end, make sure to prepare for the jerky stop though. The stop was quite sharp if you weren’t ready for it. Even knowing about it, it still caught us by surprise a little bit. Once you get to the bottom, if you want to, you can do the Zipline to Niagara Falls again for ⅓ of the regular price. They also offer photo and video packages. For a small price, you can get videos of 3 different views of you being a badass. Although the video quality isn’t anything worth writing home about, it is a good way to remember your adventure. By the way, you won’t need to walk back up the hill at the end. You’ll get a VIP ride back up in a golf cart.
